Abstract/Summary
A walkover survey of land on Halscombe Allotment, Humber’s Ball, Hawkridge Plain and Old Barrow Down, southwest of Withypool, Exmoor, was carried out in October and November 2017 in advance of mire restoration to be carried out by the Exmoor Mires Partnership. The work was carried out in order to characterise, quantify and locate known and unknown heritage assets within the defined survey areas. Several previously unrecorded heritage assets were located, including several Bronze Age cairns on Old Barrow Down.
