Full Description
SS 68974 38941. The earthwork remains of ploughed over hollow ways on the western edge of Wallover Down were noted during field survey in 2017. An example is 5 metres wide and 0.9 metres deep. The hollow ways run southwest to northeast for some 140 metres across Wallover Down towards Shoulsbarrow Common and are the remains of routeways from the farms to the west, giving access to the maina reas of summer grazing in the Royal Forest (MEM22088). They may date from the early medieval period. [1]
