Full Description

'Clark's Quarry' is marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. [1] 'Old Quarry' is marked on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey map. [2] The earthworks of the quarry are depicted on the 2022 MasterMap data but are not labelled. [3] The area occupied by the quarry has gradually been redeveloped, now being occupied by Weirhead Cottages (MEM21976) and Weir View House (MEM21979). [4] The quarries shown to the northeast of Dulverton were a source of stone rubble (hard Devonian sandstones and shales) used for almost all the historic buildings and boundary walls in the settlement. [5]
