Full Description

A terraced memorial garden is located close to the site of the settlement of Middleham, which was swept away in the flood of 1952. The 2018 Conservation Area Appraisal recommended that the Conservation Area be extended to include this garden. [1] SS 7279 4925. The memorial garden is on the site of the cottages and gardens of Middleham, and commemorates all the victims of the flood disaster. The site was photographed in June 2012. [2] The site is marked "Gardens" on the 2022 MasterMap data. [3] The area is shown as a series of small plots of land on the 25 inch 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map. A row of houses is shown to the north and labelled "Middleham" (MEM25304). [4]
