Full Description

SS 852 328. Earthworks around the present farmstead of Westwater indicated by McDonnell (and presumably seen on aerial photographs) are possibly indicative of a change of site or shrinkage from a hamlet to a farmstead. Aston's grid reference would appear to be incorrect as Westwater Farm is located at SS 848 330. [1,2] This source may be referring to the earthworks noted in record MSO11746. This latter record is sited at SS 852 328 and does not appear to have a corresponding reference by Aston. [3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
