A circular thatched building was originally thought to be a post-medieval pig sty; however, the listed building description describes the structure as a horse engine house serving the attached barn.

Full Description

Circular pig sty noted here. [1] Horse engine house, now store house. Late C18-early C19. Red sandstone random rubble, thatched round house. Plan: double threshing barn with porches on south-west side flanking coeval horse engine house. Circular horse engine house without main beam for engine, 2 rectangular unglazed openings and square headed entrance on north front. [2] The building was visited in May 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [3] The feature is marked on 2020 MasterMap data and labelled "Silo". [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
