Full Description

A group of 19th Century and later buildings, some gable end on to the street constructed of brick or stone and some with decorative detail, such as the pierced barge boards to the Village Inn. [1] The buildings are shown as a row on the 2022 MasterMap data. Numbers 9, 13 and 17 are labelled, and the Village Inn is labelled "PH". [2] The row is shown on the 25 inch 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map. [3] The western end of the row does not appear to have been extant when the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map was surveyed. [4] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [5]
