MEM22301 - Kings Brompton Farm, Brompton Regis (Building)

The farm is depicted on the Brompton Regis tithe map. [1] The farmstead also shows on the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [2,3] The farmstead is shown on the 2022 MasterMap data. [4] In 1629 King's Brompton Farm was called Ratshangar and was three tenements [5]. The rather unusual layout of the farm buildings and especially the large square waste area to the northwest of the present farm may in part perpetuate this earlier arrangement. [6] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [7]
