Abstract/Summary
This report presents the results of a palaeoecological assessment of peat within the Codsend Moors area commissioned by Exmoor National Park Authority, as part of a case study within the broader MIRE project. Detailed field survey work at Codsend identified a small mire up to 1.4 m deep within the field system. A 1.15 m sequence was recovered, which has been shown through radiocarbon dating to extend back to the middle Bronze Age (c. 1250 cal BC).
