A former farmhouse dating from the 16th to 17th Century, likely three-celled with a cross passage. At one point it was converted into two dwelling but has reverted to a single dwelling.

Farmhouse, subsequently 2 dwellings, now one. C16-C17 extensively altered mid-late C19. Red sandstone random rubble, double Roman tiled roof, brick left gable end, large lateral stack centre with rebuilt stone chimney, rebuilt oval chimney rising from square base on eaves end bay right. Plan: perhaps 3-cell and cross passage, 2 entrances on facade blocked and resited in outshut at rear. Two storeys, 2:2 bays; left 3-light ovolo moulded mullioned window set below eaves, C20 leaded 2-light casement rising through eaves, right of stack two 2-light early C19 leaded iron casements, ground floor left similar small window, large lateral 3-light window left of stack, C20 leaded window to right, C20 beyond left gable end rebuilt. Gabled roof [3] The house was mentioned in the 2003 Conservation Area appraisal for Bossington and West Lynch, which states "Adjoining [Olands] is Tudor Cottage, a former 16th –17th century farmhouse, probably originally three-cell with cross-passage. It subsequently became two dwellings, but has reverted to a single dwelling. Features include a three-light ovolo moulded mullioned window, probably 17th century, and some early 19th century leaded light iron casement windows." [4] The building was visited in March 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [5] The building is mentioned in the 2019 Conservation Area Appraisal for Bossington. [6]
