MEM25710 - Upper and lower linhays at Manor Farm, Beggearn Huish (Building)

Two open linhays form part of a courtyard of farm buildings at Manor Farm, Beggearn Huish. Both are constructed from a mixture of local red sandstone and cob. The lower linhay is the older of the two structures, constructed around the turn of the 19th century as represented on demesne mapping. [1] It is present on the later tithe map. [2] Construction appears to have begun on the Top Linhay after the compilation of the tithe map, but before the production of further manorial maps in 1859, with its western range completed at some point betweeen 1859 and 1886.
