Full Description

A post medieval roofless stone barn in a state of semi ruin is present behind Rose Villa, but predates this building significantly, likely constructed in the 18th century. It is visible as part of a larger L-shaped complex on the 1840s Tithe Map for Old Cleeve.[1] The barn consists of four stone walls which survive in good condition, the stonework consists largely of rubble masonry with no dressed stone, largely composed of flattened slabs of local sandstone. The walls are flanked with thick buttresses on the exterior side, acting as supports. There is a small window in one gable, which is rectangular in shape and angled, becoming narrower towards the exterior opening. [2]
