MEM25342 - Bodley Cottage, Parracombe (Building)

The cottage is suggested to represent a 19th Century remodelling of an earlier dwelling. [1] The building is depicted and labelled on the 2022 MasterMap data. [2] It is similarly shown on the 25 inch 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [3,4] A building is shown in this location on the Tithe Map for Parracombe; however, it is shown on a slightly different orientation and it is therefore not clear if this is the same structure. [5] Bodley Cottage is probably early 19th Century in date. [6] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [7]
