MEM25340 - Frogwell Farm, Skilgate (Building)

A farmstead is shown on the Tithe Map for Skilgate centred at SS 9693 2776. It is labelled 470, with two separate land parcels to the south and west depicted as orchards and labelled 471 and 472 respectively. A pond is shown to the southwest of the farm buildings. The Apportionment describes 470 as "House Outbuildings Barton and Garden", with 471 named "Great Orchard" and 472 "Little Orchard". [1] Many of the buildings, together with the pond and orchards, are shown on the Tithe Map at the site are depicted on the 25 inch 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. The site is labelled "Frogwell Farm". [2,3] The farmstead and pond is shown on the 2022 MasterMap data and is labelled "Frogwell Farm". The southern orchard is also shown, but the western side appears to have been redeveloped. [4]
