Full Description

The Tithe Map for Lynton depicts and labels a detached property at SS 7190 4957. It is labelled "Cutland's Castle" and "Wm Cutland", within land parcel 66. [1] The building is features on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, with some alterations to its plan form. It is labelled "Summit Castle". [2] The building is depicted on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map, but is not labelled. [3] The building appears to be shown on the 2022 MasterMap data, but with a simpler, rectangular plan form. It is unlabelled. [4] The building is visible on Google Street View as a rendered single storey garage block. It may or may not include fabric from the former house. [5]
