Full Description

The remains of a former hedgebank that once filled the space now occupied by a gateway was recorded during a watching brief in 2021. A stony deposit was noted to cross the length of the gateway and was 2.68 metres wide by 0.6 metres deep, dividing the topsoil from the north and south fields. The hedgebank is shown on the Countisbury Tithe Map. [1,2]
