Full Description

A rectangular building is shown on the Exford Tithe Map at SS 8441 3922, abutting a small enclosure that contains a pond situated at c. SS 8441 3922. They are labelled 684, which the accompanying Apportionment describes as "Higher Mill: Linhay Pond and Courtlage (Barton)", owned and occupied by George and Samuel Moore. [1] The linhay is depicted but not labelled on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. The enclosure is also shown, but the pond is not. [2] The arrangement shown on the 1st Edition map is repeated on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map. [3] The building is not shown as extant on the 2020 MasterMap data. Only parts of the enclosure boundary may remain on the site. [4]
