Summary

A 20th Century groyne was visible on the 3rd Edition Ordnance Survey mapping. This was not present on the earlier 1st and 2nd Edition maps, and was not seen on the later 2014 MasterMap.

Full Description

A 20th Century groyne was visible on the 3rd Edition Ordnance Survey mapping. This was not present on the earlier 1st and 2nd Edition maps, and was not seen on the later 2014 MasterMap. [1-4] The Groyne appears to be marked on the 2022 MasterMap data, although it may have been renewed. [5] The groyne is mentioned in the 2019 Conservation Area Appraisal for Porlock Weir. It was noted to be at direct risk of coastal erosion. [6]
