Full Description
A rectangular platform 14.5 metres long, 4.2 metres wide and terraced into the hillside by 1.2 metres, 30 metres south of Hoaroak Cottage, is the remains of a sheep fold, built between 1889 and 1904 when Hoaroak Cottage was the home of the shepherd of the Exmoor Estate’s Hoar Oak herding. [1] The sheep fold does not appear on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map but is depicted on the 2nd Edition map. [2,3]
