Full Description

The farmhouse dates from the 17th Century and is built of stone rubble, finished in roughcast render with a part pantile roof and two large shouldered front lateral stacks. [1] A structure is visible on the 1841 Selworthy Tithe map at this location. [2] Stoates Farm is mentioned in the 2017 Conservation Area Appraisal. It was suggested the group of buildings in this area may have early origins. [3] The building is shown on the 2022 MasterMap data as part of a group labelled "Stoates Farm". [4] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [5]
