Type and Period (3)
Remains of a small isolated building c 60yds e of building (subsheet 12) are probably those of the victorian powder house. It was built of local stone and measured 8' by 12' internally, with a 3' doorway (dixon). (1) Vis=2/12/1994 (griffith + bowman) as above (griffith). (2) The magazine is visible as a nearly square building with walls of up to 1.5m high. It has an entrance on the sw side (nmr). (3) Des=dixon, d. /mining and the community in the parishes of north molton, south molton, molland and twitchen, devonshire/(1983)271/in smr. (4) Des=griffith, f. M. /as above/(5/12/1994). (5) Nmr=ss73se17. (6)
