Full Description

Shaft D. Florence Mine. Seems to be c. 9 inches square. Known to have been 84 inches deep. Now water filled. [1] "Old Shaft" shown on six inch 1903 and 1962 Ordnance Survey maps. [2,3] The site was still visible in 1994. [4] The shaft is labelled on the 2021 MasterMap data, although its precise position is not clear. [5]
