Full Description

"Chope's Well" is shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map at c. SS 7059 4008. [1] The well is also depicted on the Challacombe Tithe Map and labelled "Chope Well". [2] The well is no longer depicted on the 2nd Edition map and is not present on modern MasterMap data. [3,4] The feature was not located during field investigation in 2017. It was suggested the feature may have been destroyed by the enclosure boundary. [5]
