Full Description

'Quarry' shown on the Ordnance Survey 6 inch (1903) map and the Ordnance Survey 6 inch (1962) map. [1] Large quarry to the west of Lynton active in the later 19th Century which finally closed in the 1930s. A local resident suggested the two buildings to the east were to safeguard explosives used in the quarry and one possibly housed detonators. Three photographs included. [?] The quarry is shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map in a much smaller form. [3]
