MDE12843 - Natural spring mound north of stone setting (Non-antiquity)
Summary
An alleged mound was noted on aerial photographs taken in 1947. Field investigation in 1995 revealed a natural spring mound but no evidence of any other mound in the area.

Full Description
SS7149 4292. McDonnell reports a round mound seen on aerial photographs. [1-3] Perambulation revealed only a natural spring mound ie a higher area of greener turf formed by excess water from an old spring. No evidence of any other mound, natural or man-made, was identified in the area. No Survey action. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
