Full Description

SS 789 298. A 'macehead' with an hourglass perforation and made of brown quartzite was dug out of a rabbit hole at Pulsworthy Bridge. Presented to Taunton Museum by Mr. Aaron Blackford (through Mr. P. J. D. Wray). [1] A perforated macehead of quartzite was found at Pulsworthy Bridge in 1931. Now in Taunton Museum, no. 1931.51.A.10. [2] N.B. It is not clear whether this find was located within or outside the National Park boundary. [3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
