Description

Archaeological monitoring was undertaken of the backfilling of drainage ditches on the outskirts of Great Wood on the Holnicote Estate. No archaeological features or deposits were visible and no discernable features were identified. Some finds dating to the post-medieval or modern periods were noted, which were thought to be present from hillwash. This included 2 fragments of animal bone, 14 sherds of pottery, 3 shards of glass and 2 pantile fragments.
