Description

The Historic Environment Officer for the MIRES Project was present on site during work undertaken at The Warren during March 2016 and August 2016-January 2017. No archaeological issues arose during the first phase of restoration; however, during the second phase, a standing stone was discovered and that area excluded from restoration. Three further stones to the north of the first were also noted, but may or may not be prehistoric in origin. In addition, a long leat was noted to be suffering from damage caused by heavy access use and subsequent water channelling and erosion.
