The building is apparently 17th or 18th Century in origin but has been extended and altered in subsequent years, including having a change in orientation.The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. The site/building / structure is included in the 2018 Conservation Area Appraisal as a building of local importance. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List.
