The building is likely medieval in date with significant 17th century alterations including roof structure. The building is a mix of cob and rubble with a thatched roof. It contains 16th century material and a number of early features. The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List.
