MSO8658 - Possible Bronze Age burial cairn on Black Hill (Monument)

Summary

A possible Bronze Age burial cairn on Black Hill, visible as a small mound measuring 3.4 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres high. It has a small central depression.

Full Description

A small mound lies on the northern end of Black Hill at SS 9879 4008. It is 3.4 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres high. There is small central depression and some stone is visible. A modern stone cairn lies to the north at SS 9875 4012. The mound may be a small prehistoric burial cairn: three large cairns lie to the south. The feature was recorded using differential GPS as part of the Exmoor project.
