MSO8067 - Undated mound south of Great Wood (Monument)

Summary

A ploughed out mound, noted on aerial photographs taken in 1971, could not be found during field investigation in 1998.

Full Description

A large, very low, ploughed mound with surrounding bank and inturn (?entrance) on its eastern side. [1,2] There is no field evidence for such a feature at the grid reference given, which lies in an improved pasture field. [3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
