MSO7372 - Disputed post-medieval water meadow north of Cloutsham Farm (Monument)

Summary

A post-medieval field gutter system was noted on aerial photographs to the north of Cloutsham Farm; however, other sources have not been able to confirm its presence.

Full Description

A water meadow was seen on aerial photographs to the north of Cloutsham Farm. [1,2] Although there are some marks visible on the aerial photograph it is not clear that they represent a catch meadow system. [3] A catch water water meadow system is alleged at Cloutsham Farm but no evidence for such a feature can be seen on the aerial photographs available to the Exmoor National Mapping Programme survey. [4,5] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [6]
