Summary

A limekiln and quarry noted on the Ordnance Survey 25" maps of 1889 and 1904, but not on the 6" of 1962. The quarry earthworks survive but the kiln is no longer visible.

Full Description

A limekiln appears on Ordnance Survey maps of 1889. [1] 'Old limekiln' printed on OS 1904 map. [2] 'Old Quarry' shown on 1962 map. [3] The site of the kiln is marked by a slight hollow beside a sunken lane. The field to the east is occupied by the lime quarry with adjacent spoil mounds. [4]
