Full Description

Grass marks showing two large subcircular features and a rectangular shape south of Renford Knap. [1,2] There is no field evidence for this possible feature; the field is level and is under improved pasture. [3] The features described above, were clearly visible on the Somerset County Council photographs [1] as well as several sorties held by the Exmoor National Park Authority [4]. The rectangular feature is the footings for a modern (temporary) building and the circular parch marks are considered also be modern, possibly relating to the site being used as a venue for a horse/agricultural show. [5] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [7]
