Full Description
'Coal Pits' and 'Black Pits Plain' are marked on Ordnance Survey mapping, together with several old quarries. [1] There are several cropmarks in this area, including circular banks and small squares. [2-4] "Coal Pits" place name is recorded in an area of quarries and cropmarks. [5] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [6]
