Full Description

'Cemetery' and 'Lych Gate' shown on Ordnance Survey map of c1904. [1] Expanded to the north east in recent times. [2] In 1891… the new cemetery was opened in Hawkcombe on land actually belonging to Luccombe Parish, which was unfortunate for Porlock folk, because they had to pay for burial, whereas Luccombe parishioners were buried free. [3] The cemetery is mentioned in the 2013 Conservation Area Appraisal for Porlock. [4]
