MSO10046 - Post-medieval water meadow south of Dulverton (Monument)

A system of post-medieval field gutters, visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, probably form part of a water meadow of a type known locally as a Catch Meadow irrigation system. They have been ploughed level.

A system of Post Medieval field gutters, visible on aerial photographs, probably form part of a water meadow, known locally as a Catch Meadow irrigation system. Six roughly parallel ditches, measuring up to 250m long, extend along the contour, between 183m and 244m above OD. They are situated on a south east facing slope centred at SS 9218 2696. They have been ploughed level. [1]
