Full Description

Medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow, field banks and extractive pits, visible as earthworks on vertical air photographs in the vicinity of Hurscombe Barn. These feature are centred at SS 979 328 and are overlain by the drainage features described in record MMO752. [1] It is not clear whether record MSO8946 refers to some of the features mentioned above. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4] Ridge and furrow earthworks remain prominently visible centred at SS 9787 3291: the banks are narrowly spaced and straight, suggesting a post medieval date. [6] This record was enhanced by Cornwall HER for the Forestry Commission's Project K. [7]
