MMO3799 - Possible post-medieval water meadow or field drains southwest of Brimble View (Monument)

Ditches visible as earthworks on aerial photographs may be the remains of a post-medieval water meadow, known locally as a catchwater meadow. They extend along the slope in a field to the east of the dismantled railway on the eastern edge of Parracombe. It is possible that they are simply field drains. They are centred at SS 6762 4424. They seem to cut through remains of medieval lynchets (MMO3793).
