MMO3370 - Post-medieval quarry west of Five Ways Cross (Monument)

A quarry and associated spoil mounds can be seen as earthworks on aerial photographs centred on circa SS 8771 2856, approximately 240 metres to the west of Five Ways Cross. The spoil mounds area arrayed to the southeast of the quarry, two linear banks possibly defining an entrance to the pit. The quarry is annotated as Old Quarry on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey maps of Devon and Somerset, and therefore passed out of use prior to 1890.
