Full Description

A pair of small subcircular quarries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs as earthworks east of Mole's Chamber, Exmoor. Centred at SS 7195 3942, the quarries measure between 9 and 10 metres across. They are not depicted on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1889, suggesting that they were abandoned prior to publication. However, they most likely date to the post-medieval period, although there is a possibility that they are medieval in origin.
