Full Description

A row of four small irregularly shaped pits or trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards, running northwards for roughly 100 metres from circa SS 71264592, alongside a footpath on Ilkerton Ridge, Lynton and Lynmouth parish. The pits are most likely to be of Second World Dar date, and were probably dug as part of military training exercises taking place on the Exmoor Firing Range.
