Full Description

A post-medieval field boundary is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs to the north of North Challacombe Farm. It is centred at SS 5888 4792 and measures approximately 194 metres long, running north to south. The boundary is approximately parallel to two existing boundaries, dividing a larger field into two strip fields. These two strip fields are shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map, but the boundary dividing them is curved slightly to the west. This boundary and the strip fields may represent part of the original enclosure of this area of land.
