MMO1164 - Undated trackways converging west of Lype Farm (Monument)

Summary

Four trackways of unknown date crossing Lype Common, visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1971. They run from the northwest and west, appearing to converge.

Full Description

The remains of four fragments of trackway of unknown date seen crossing Lype Common from the northwest and west and appearing to converge on a single point at SS 9527 3668. These were seen as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs. They are an extension of tracks which cross Lype Common and are one of a number of tracks which criss-cross the common (MMO808, MMO1165). [1,2] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [3]
