MMO1129 - Post-medieval ridge and furrow southwest of Beverton Pond (Monument)

Two areas of Medieval or Post Medieval ridge and furrow were seen as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs. The rig is centred at ST 0160 3385 and ST 0151 3404. [1-3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4] Earthworks corresponding with the ridge and furrow visible in 1946 survive and are visible in LiDAR imagery. The ridge and furrow is extremely narrow and straight, strongly suggesting a post medieval date. [5] This record was enhanced by Cornwall HER for the Forestry Commission's Project K. [6]
