Full Description
A circular mound was noted during LiDAR analysis during a consultation in 2026, measuring c. 14m in diameter. [1] The mound appears on the LiDAR to have been respected by the medieval ridge and furrow surrounding it, but is cut in the south western corner by a field gutter of post medieval (likely 19th century) date, part of a catchwork meadow. It is visible on aerial photography from 1946 with the outer ditch very visible, and is just discernable in more recent aerial photographs. [2,3] It is also marked on the First Edition OS map, as a raised area of rough ground in the middle of the pasture. [4] It seems likely to be a Bronze Age round barrow with outer ditch, and while currently appearing as an isolated feature, forms part of a growing number of known barrows on the eastern side of the Exe valley, including MEM25810 and MMO1032.
