Full Description
Two possible prehistoric round barrows were identified during LiDAR assessment in 2025 in a field to the north of South Greenslade Farm. [1] The two barrows are circular in shape and likely significantly levelled by agricultural activity in the medieval to modern periods. Both appear to be encircled by a ditch, with the northern example better preserved than the southern. The southern barrow, located at SS9649930152, measures c.9m in diameter, while the northern barrow, located at SS measures c.8.5m in diameter. They seem likely to be a form of bowl barrow and are probably Bronze Age in date. [2]
