Full Description
An open fronted rectangular linhay with rear wall is located at SS 89422 35301, facing Ash Lane, Winsford. The linhay is not shown on 1st or 2nd Ed OS maps. [1] However, it does appear to be present on 1946 aerial photography. [2] It is also present on MasterMap data. [3] The linhay is composed of stone, with a double roman clay tile roof. The closed gable has a wooden door to the upper floor hayloft. The roof has lower courses of metal sheet which appear to be removable to allow fodder to be placed in feeding racks from the road. It is currently in poor condition with roof nearing collapse on observation in April 2025. [4] On comparison with other linhay structures within Exmoor National Park, this example is likely 19th century in date.
