Full Description

SS 7151 4442. A hollow on Thornworthy Common was noted during field survey following a wildfire in 2022. The hollow was measured as 2 metres from east to west, 2 metres from north to south and 0.4 metres deep. There were also two small rectangular hollows to the west. The hollow was suggested to represent a military training site dating to the Second World War, and was noted to be clearly visible on aerial photographs dating to 1946 to 1948. [1,2]
